Background

Born in 1950 in Philadelphia, PA. Graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Average upbringing in Mayfair (Northeast section of Phila.). Good family, urban living, and lower middle class.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in History with an Education minor from Penn State Univ., 1971. Master of Arts in History with a concentration in US History from the Univ. of Conn., 1972. Masters of Science in Forestry from MTU with a concentration in Natural & Cultural History Interpretation and Recreation, 1979.

Work

Taught in Philadelphia Public Schools as a Junior High Social Studies teacher from 1973-75. Taught adult education Social Studies classes locally (Copper Country) off and on from 1975-82. Was a GTA for the MTU SS Dept. from 1976-79; a Visiting Instructor for the MTU SS Dept. off and on from 1979-88; and an Adjunct Faculty for the MTU SS Dept. from 2005 to present. Was the Social Studies Dept. for Dollar Bay High School from 1985-2003. Taught English at Ganzhou Geological Institute, Ganzhou, People's Republic of China in the summer of 1990. Worked summers for the Michigan DNR at McLain SP from 1978-85. Was a role playing interpreter during summers at Fort Wilkins State Park from 1976-77.

Personal

Member of the MTU Concert Choir, MEA-Retired, Copper Country Audubon Society, and Peninsula Christian Church. Enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, & movies. Was elected Township Supervisor for Osceola Twp. (Dollar Bay to Osceola area) in 2004. On Myer-Briggs personality type-ESTJ.
